Role-Based Access Control in Posttely

Posttely's role-based permission system ensures that team members have the right level of access for their responsibilities.

Available Roles

Owner

  • Full administrative control

  • Can create and delete teams

  • Can manage all team members

  • Can change member roles

  • Can access all features and settings

  • Can approve and review all posts

Admin

  • Can invite and manage team members

  • Can review and approve posts

  • Can create, edit, and schedule posts

  • Can access analytics and reports

  • Cannot delete the team or remove the owner

Manager

  • Can review and approve posts

  • Can create, edit, and schedule posts

  • Can access content calendar

  • Can view analytics

  • Cannot manage team members

Editor

  • Can create and edit posts

  • Can schedule posts

  • Can save drafts

  • Cannot publish without approval (if review workflow is enabled)

  • Cannot manage team members

Content Scheduler

  • Can create and schedule posts

  • Can save drafts

  • All posts require approval before publishing

  • Limited access to other features

Best Practices

  • Start Conservative: Assign minimal permissions initially

  • Review Regularly: Periodically review team member roles

  • Use Approval Workflow: Enable review/approval for important content

  • Document Roles: Keep a record of who has what access

Changing Roles

Team Owners and Admins can change member roles:

  1. Go to My Team

  2. Select the team member

  3. Click Change Role

  4. Select the new role

  5. Save changes
