Microsoft is taking the integration of Bing AI to the next level with its innovative Windows 11 Copilot. While currently capable of a few actions like changing the device theme and conducting Bing searches, Microsoft has ambitious plans to enhance Copilot's capabilities in the future.

Introduced earlier this year, Windows Copilot combines the power of Bing AI, based on OpenAI's GPT4 large language model, with the latest Windows 11 operating system. Utilizing Windows 11 APIs, Copilot interacts seamlessly with apps and the OS, enabling users to customize settings, personalize apps, and perform various tasks effortlessly.

The latest Windows 11 Build 23506 unveiled exciting potential for Copilot with the inclusion of inbox plugins. These plugins promise to redefine the way users interact with the operating system. For instance, the 'Set Windows Theme Plugin' allows users to modify their device's theme using Copilot's AI capabilities. Additionally, plugins like 'Fix Slow PC,' 'Close App,' and 'Screen Snipping' will empower users to boost PC performance, close applications, and even capture screenshots.

Similar to traditional voice assistants, Copilot's 'Set Timer and Set Alarm' plugins enable users to set alarms and custom timers using simple voice commands. The 'Suggest Media' plugin opens the door for users to request movie recommendations with ease.

Microsoft plans to expand Copilot's functionality further by introducing more plugins in the future. These will include the ability to customize advanced settings, personalize the OS, facilitate copy and paste actions, and establish connections with supported third-party apps.

Currently, Windows Copilot is available to users on the Windows 11 Dev or Canary channel, where it showcases Bing.com skills, allows toggling of 'Do Not Disturb' mode, and enables device theme changes. However, the exciting new features might become more widely accessible with the release of Windows 11 23H2, expected later this year.

Microsoft's commitment to enhancing Windows Copilot with Bing AI integration is set to revolutionize user experiences on the Windows 11 platform. By embracing AI technology and expanding the range of functionalities, Copilot is well on its way to becoming a groundbreaking tool for seamless and efficient interaction with Windows 11.
